African Diaspora Inaugural Ball
ADC’s public launch at the Harman Center for the Arts drew more than 600 attendees. The evening brought together music, civic engagement and an education-centered philanthropic mission.

10,000 Books to Africa initiative
In partnership with First Book and education-focused beneficiary organizations, ADC helped advance a project to provide 10,000 books for children in Ethiopia.

The Neo-African Americans at Howard University
ADC partnered with Howard University and filmmaker Kobina Aidoo on a documentary screening and dialogue about Black identity, migration and community.

Immigration Reform & U.S. Census Forum
With the African Federation and other partners, ADC helped convene community organizations at the African Union Mission to discuss immigrant representation and participation in the 2010 Census.

Culture & Cocktails — inaugural edition
ADC’s first Culture & Cocktails mixed music, storytelling and diaspora performance. It also raised $1,300 for Haiti earthquake relief.
