v:k is a prolific painter and performance installationist, as well as a D.J. and musician, who has been featured at venues around the U.S. and internationally. His blend of floor-shaking beats from every corner of the world has gained rave reviews from audiences of an equally varied background.
En Avant Congo
The Washington-D.C.-based 501(c)3 non-profit En Avant Congo (“Forward, Congo”) was formed in 2003 by a group of Congolese and Americans to promote U.S. civic engagement in ending the conflict in D.R. Congo and funding services for survivors of mass rape by combatants. The group supports Centre Olame, a model institution providing services for survivors in Bukavu, South Kivu – the heart of Eastern Congo’s warzone.
